Arnie's Place

Company History

New Hampshire's Award Winning Ice Cream and More!

Owner Tom Arnold got an early start in the restaurant business. His father started at the original Friendly's Restaurant in Pine Point, Massachusetts and then bought Weeks in Concord in 1964. Tom then followed his father into the business in 1967 at the original Weeks ice cream shop at the Capitol Shopping Center where Sal's Pizza is now located.

Arnie's building was built in 1960 and run as a Dairy Queen until 1990. Tom then took the reins and opened Arnie's Place in 1992. Armed with homemade ice cream recipes, some over 70 years old, Tom quickly turned Arnie's into one of Concord's most recognizable family-owned and operated fun spots.

Today, Arnie's is known almost as much for its Christmas Trees and Tuesday evening Cruise Nights as it is for having one of the largest selections of award-winning homemade ice cream and mouthwatering Bar-B-Que.

Tom also credits the longevity and success of the restaurant to the spirit of 3 mentors ("Sky Dog" Prescott, Terry Fagen and Randy Jones) who provided support and encouragement during the restaurant's early days.
